Kenny Dalglish quotes
75“Sometimes legends make reality, and become more useful than the facts.” (Salman Rushdie)
Kenny Dalglish is undoubtedly one of the most iconic figures of English football. He was an outstanding player and there is no doubt that he also is a fantastic tactician. After his appointment as Liverpool`s manager, fans of the Anfield based club finally had some hope to cling onto. There simply isn`t a better man for this job; only Dalglish is capable of guiding this prestigious club back to glory. This humble article is only a small tribute to this extraordinary Scot.
- “These guys are no mugs”. - being asked before the match about Liverpool's Scandanavian opponents. Liverpool won 10 - 0!
- “The saddest and most beautiful sight I have ever seen”. (scarfs at Anfield post Hillsborough)
- “Liverpool and Chelsea are close when they play each other, apart from the 4-1 at Anfield earlier this season, although they lost 2-0 down here”.
- “What do I say to them in the dressing-room? Nothing really. Most of the time I don’t even know what they are going to do myself”. (On managing Liverpool FC )
- “The people who come to watch us play, who love the team and regard it as part of their lives, would never appreciate Liverpool having a huge balance in the bank. They want every asset we possess to be wearing a red shirt”.
- “Of all the players I have played alongside, managed and coached in more than 40 years at Anfield, he is the most talented”. (About Bob Paisley)
- What did you think about Babel posting the picture of Howard Webb in a Man Utd shirt?
Kenny:” I think it's stupid. That picture featured a Man Utd shirt with "AIG" on it. Man Utd are currently sponsored by "AON" (did he really say that though? unlikely, but would have been funny)
- When Ferguson headed to Old Trafford from Aberdeen, the team he famously wanted to “knock off their perch” were Dalglish’s Liverpool. It wasn’t to happen while his fellow Glaswegian was still in charge, but it would happen eventually. After one 3-3 draw between the clubs, Ferguson was apoplectic about having a man sent off.
Dalglish couldn’t resist a dig as he walked past his rival manager in the tunnel while carrying his young daughter Lauren. He said to the radio interviewer speaking to Ferguson: “You’d be better off talking to my baby. She’s only six weeks old but you’d get more sense from her than him - So is he jeopardising his legendary status by returning?
"Quite the reverse," he said. "I think it would have been on the line if I never took it." - The owners are coming over for the Merseyside derby - are you having talks with them and are there any new players on the agenda?
Well, it would be rude not to talk to them since they employ us! - Asked by sky how he feels to be back at Anfield for the derby....
Kenny answers....”at least im closer to the action than last years game !!..” - Journalist: how did they get you off the boat, did you have to talk to the capitan?
Kenny: “big walls. The big white walls stopped the boat. I think they call it a port”. - "I was on a boat, I was happy! Then I got a phone call from John Henry and he said 'Do you want to come and look after the team until the end of the season?'
"Being a professional athlete I was at the bar!

Nice hub , well ppresented and a great tribute to a great football brain.
Great hub with some memorable quotes...very useful, funny and awesome....great job
He was a phenomenal player, down to earth as you have to be at the 'pool'. There are other great players, but none better, or more valuable to the team. I didn't expect him to turn liverpool around so dramatically, but he has reignited the passion that was was missing previously. If he'd have been put in charge a month earlier they'd be in the champion's league next season. I'm a Wolves fan and we deserved to just about win at Anfield earlier in the season. We were a bit lucky too i suppose, but were outplayed at Molenioux. There are some good quotes, but Oscar Wilde wouldn't be able to compete with Bill Shankley. Good luck in the europa league.
Quotes are usually interesting; this was no different.
I enjoyed your hub and learning about Kenny Dalglish. Thank you very much! Voted up.

I loved that win against Manchester United last week and their previous win against Chelsea was sweet because of Torres.
